Hi neighbors and friends--good news to start off the weekend:1. According to Jose's brother-in-law Robert, Jose is improving and now
only using the ventilator as back up during the day. It is hoped that he will be able to come off the sedation in the next few days, and perhaps going home soon. This is excellent news. Maria and Luna are also recovering well and have been incredibly moved by the outpouring of support both locally and across the country.
2. Updates have been made to the http://www.FriendsOfLuna.com page--you can donate there online via PayPal, and please link to the page on your blogs and newsletters. It looks like we'll be having a live auction instead of a silent auction on Saturday March 27th, along with lots of other fun activities. More news as plans develop, and suggestions are welcome. 3. If you're a social networker, please join our Friends of Luna
Facebook pages! Go to Facebook and search for "Friends of Luna" and you'll pull up both a group page and a Fan page, please join both for updates on the family's condition and the fundraiser events. You can easily share information with your friends about FriendsofLuna and our fundraiser through your Facebook updates, and we encourage everyone to help spread the word. Invite your online friends to join Friends of Luna and feel free to comment, too!

4. The Meier Street Neighbors are seeking donations from local
businesses, service providers, and artisans for auction items, raffle prizes, and other fundraising purposes. Help us hustle up from your favorite local places--restaurants, salons, cafes, hard goods, sports shots, gaming, computer gear--anything you can think of! We'll find a way to use it to make more money for the family. We are particularly looking for a food truck or two that would park nearby and donate part of their proceeds on the fundraiser day, entertainment, and advance signage donations.

5. The PayPal account and trust fund donations are growing! We hope to have an update for you soon, and the money is desperately needed as the family now seeks to find housing, buy clothing, and reestablish some sort of stability in their lives.
